Registration open for type 1 diabetes technology course

Type 1 diabetes-related technologies will be the focus of a healthcare professional course which registration has now opened.

Leicester Diabetes Centre’s ‘Practical Type 1 Technology Course’ is scheduled to take place over two days on Thursday, November 24 and Friday, November 25.

The in-person event has been designed for healthcare professionals who want to learn how to improve the lives of those living with diabetes by implementing technologies into their practice.

It is hoped attending the event will help delegates understand several diabetes technologies, including connected pens, insulin pumps, CGMs and how to read a download in 90 seconds.

They will also get a chance to use different diabetes technologies by attending demonstrations on insulin pump devices and how to use a CGM.

Professor Pratik Choudhary, Professor of Diabetes at the Leicester Diabetes Centre, University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust, and chair of the UK Diabetes Technology Network, will be leading sessions on a range of topics, including ‘designing the optimal technology service’.

Janet Jarvis, Hannah Forde, Erica Richardson and Bernie Stribling will also be speaking during the course.

To attend the two-day course, register here.
