Spirit Health launches CGM support service to ease pressure on primary care

Spirit Health has announced the launch of a new digitally connected support service for people living with diabetes who are switching to the CareSens Air continuous glucose monitor (CGM).

Designed to improve clinical outcomes while reducing the burden on general practice, the service brings together real-time CGM data, smart insulin pen insights, personalised education and remote monitoring – delivering a seamless experience while enabling practices to retain oversight and control.

Leading the way in outcomes-based diabetes support, the service is a collaborative solution led by CareSens Air CGM, Clinitouch and structured coaching from EMPOWER diabetes experts. It is specifically tailored to support people on multiple daily insulin injections – a group that can be time-consuming and complex to manage in primary care.

By integrating device data and education into one streamlined package, the service provides real-time glucose insights, automated insulin dose reminders and tailored digital coaching.

People living with diabetes receive ongoing, accessible support to improve self-management and engagement while healthcare professionals carry out remote monitoring – without placing additional demands on practice teams.

To encourage adoption, Spirit Health is offering a three-month, no-obligation pilot in partnership with Primary Care Networks and Integrated Care Boards.

Participating practices will receive fully funded support for eligible patients, with no extra training or technology requirements. Each pilot will include a full evaluation of its impact on practice workload, prescribing and outcomes.
