A survey has been launched to assess the use of technology in assisting with the arterial assessment of the lower limb and foot.
The research team is exploring whether new technologies may have a place in future arterial assessment and screening programmes for people at risk of peripheral arterial disease (PAD).
The survey forms a part of a larger Medical Research Council-funded project led by Professor Charmaine Childs of Sheffield Hallam University, Health Research Institute, in collaboration with the University of Huddersfield and aligning to the vision of the Sheffield Multimodal Imaging Centre (SMIC).
It will explore whether there is potential usefulness from a new method of vascular assessment, with the researchers saying: “Our new method is a non-invasive, non-contact, fast and relatively inexpensive imaging technology that could have potential as a screening and diagnostic tool in future vascular assessment options.”
The survey is open to any healthcare professional involved in lower limb vascular assessments.
