A survey is being conducted looking at the diagnosis of osteomyelitis in people with diabetes and a foot ulcer.
The DOMINO-DFU study is an NIHR Academy-funded UK study, aiming to optimise the diagnosis of osteomyelitis in the diabetic foot.
Researchers are evaluating whether the clinical practice in its study centres reflects that of the wider UK MDT diabetic foot community.
The study centres have recruited to a prospective cohort study where the clinical features, use of X-ray and blood tests has been recorded to describe the current diagnostic practice for osteomyelitis in DFU.
The team is looking to validate this nationally, to ensure that the study centre practice reflects national practice.
They have invited responses to the survey, including case vignettes and thoughts on a potential tool to help with diagnosis in the future.
