A leading diabetes inpatient group has unveiled the identity of its new co-chair.
Dr Omar Mustafa, Consultant Physician in Diabetes and General Internal Medicine based at King’s College Hospital in London, has taken on the role of co-chair of the Joint British Diabetes Societies for Inpatient Care group (JBDS-IP).
He said: “I am honoured and delighted to take up the role of co-chair of the JBDS-IP. I look forward to working with colleagues and partners to raise the standards, improve quality of care and encourage innovations in inpatient diabetes care.”
Dr Mustafa will work alongside the group’s other co-chair Professor Ketan Dhatariya, who is a Consultant in Diabetes, Endocrinology and General Medicine at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
Since 2019, Professor Dhatariya has been leading the JBDS-IP. Over the next year, Dr Mustafa and Professor Dhatariya will work together to lead the group.
