The results of the first National Diabetes Experience Survey are now available online.
According to NHS England, the results provide us with a valuable insight into people’s experiences of living with type 1 or type 2 diabetes and their care in England.
This will shape future health service improvements by supporting NHS leaders to make informed decisions about how to best support people living with diabetes and to design diabetes services based on what really matters to them.
Collaborating with lived experience partners, commissioners and service providers from project conception has ensured meaningful results that will impact policy and delivery to improve diabetes care.
The survey was sent to 108,895 adults living with type 1 or type 2 diabetes. Surveys were sent out from March to July this year, and 42,502 responses were received. The survey has a national response rate of 39 per cent.
