A recognised group of doctors determined to enhance diabetes care is holding an upcoming rooftop party to raise funds for various diabetes charities.
GoggleDocs, a group of four doctors working in the diabetic field in the UK, is hosting the Viva Las Vegas fundraiser on Saturday, May 21 at the Royal College of General Practitioners in London.
Healthcare professionals will be able to have a night off to enjoy the summer rooftop party, called ‘Raising a Smile for Diabetes’, and an evening filled with top-notch entertainment.
The event organisers said: “Diabetes is one of the greatest health challenges of the 21st century as it imposes strain on the already stretched healthcare systems. This growing burden and lack of financial funding has increased the need for philanthropic donations to contribute to the work delivered by charitable organisations.
“Join us for an evening of food, drink, entertainment and giving support to charitable organisations that aspire to educate people living with diabetes, their families and carers to help them live life as fully as they can.”
Tickets can be purchased for £100 per person, and all proceeds will be donated to diabetes charities, including the InDependent Diabetes Trust, the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, the Diabetes Research & Wellness Foundation and the Diabetes Outreach Prevention Programmes International.
GoggleDocs consists of three GPs with a specialist interest in Diabetes and one Consultant Diabetologist; Kevin Fernando, Patrick Holmes, Amrit Lamba, and Amar Puttana. The group is passionate about medical education and uses it YouTube channel to share informal and informative video podcasts.
Medical communications and pharmaceutical industry professionals can also attend the event.
