Submissions sought for National Diabetes Audit

Healthcare professionals are being asked to participate in a national diabetes audit looking at specialist and secondary diabetes services.   

The audit has been launched in a bid to measure how many people have accessed specialist diabetes services in a secondary care setting between January 1, 2021, and March 31, 2022.

Where possible, specialist and secondary care diabetes services should submit their extract from their Electronic Patient Records of date corresponding to the full NDA Specification.

However, there is an alternative approach to data submission because some secondary care settings still do not have access to electronic records.

The National Diabetes Audit is a mandatory collection as directed by NHS England. Last year, between 108 and 164 specialist services submitted a submission for the 2020-2021 audit report.

The deadline for submissions is Thursday, June 30, at 11:59. Any submissions made after this date will not be included in the 2021-2022 audit report.
