Are you an enthusiastic, motivated Dietitian keen to gain experience in diabetes?

This is an exciting opportunity to gain experience within the specialist area of diabetes area as a band 5 Dietitian with automatic progression to band 6 specialist Dietitian once competencies have been achieved.

Competencies to be achieved will include completing the BDA Diabetes Specialist Group (DSG) Diabetes workbook and DSG Dietetic competency framework. You will be provided with opportunities for observed practice and support with developing competencies which will include carbohydrate counting, commonly used medications for people with diabetes, gestational diabetes , interpreting blood glucose monitoring data, and inpatient diabetes. To enhance these competencies there will be opportunity to develop skills in motivational interviewing and behaviour change. You will also be supported to complete the trust wide preceptorship programme and any relevant departmental tutorials. You will be allocated a mentor from within the team to support you alongside the diabetes team lead.
