A total of 150 delegates attended an educational event dedicated to diabetes specialist nursing last month.
The Diabetes Specialist Nurse (DSN) Forum UK hosted its third annual conference on Thursday, October 2, providing a platform to share evidence-based best practice and discuss the latest research in the field.
Delegates attended sessions covering career planning, disordered eating in type 2 diabetes, pre-symptomatic AuAb+ type 1 diabetes, metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) and retinopathy and hybrid closed-loop systems.
A dedicated session celebrating the work of diabetes specialist nurses also took place during the conference, which was held at the Copthorne Tara Hotel in London.
Beth Kelly, Director of the DSN Forum UK, said: “We want to thank everyone who joined us at the third DSN Forum LIVE event in London.
“We had a great day listening to some amazing talks on different topics. The DSN role is vital, and as a professional group, we deserve recognition for the impact we have and the difference we make every day.”
She concluded: “We remain committed to providing specialist education and networking opportunities that support DSNs in their roles.”
After attending the conference, one delegate said: “It was a fantastic day. All the presentations were very interesting and engaging. The food and venue were great. Thank you.”
Meanwhile, another said: “It was very satisfactory, quality education and a fantastic lunch too. Thank you to the organisers and all the sponsors. Thank you for all you do for the diabetes world in the UK and beyond.”
One attendee concluded: “Best year yet, well done. It makes me proud to be a diabetes nurse when I am able to have the opportunity to share with colleagues. Amazing event. Thank you for all your hard work in organising. See you next year.”
