Forthcoming event to discuss inpatient diabetes care

A conference taking place in June will explore key aspects of diabetes inpatient care, organisers have announced.

Taking place at The Royal Society of Medicine’s headquarters in London, on Tuesday, June 11, between 8.45am and 5pm, the Inpatient Diabetes Conference 2024 is open to all healthcare professionals.

The theme of the event is ‘What to do and what not to do’ and it will explore the management of diabetes in an inpatient setting.

Hosted by The Royal Society of Medicine, the Association of British Clinical Diabetologists (ABCD) and the Joint British Diabetes Societies (JBDS) for Inpatient Care, the conference will discuss the latest developments in how to introduce new innovations to help improve glycaemic control, prevent diabetes emergencies and how to measure the effectiveness of the care they deliver.

During this conference, attendees will:

  • Learn how to provide an accredited service for inpatient diabetes
  • Apply the latest guideline changes in the management of DKA/HHS and how to use diabetes technology effectively
  • Learn how to manage challenges faced by people with diabetes on the wards, such as enteral feeding, steroids, peripartum and perioperative periods.

Attendees can also submit an abstract form to share their work.
