A national awareness campaign that aims to educate healthcare professionals on hypoglycaemia returned last week.
A total of 369 sites across the UK and Ireland participated in the annual event, which gives the diabetes community the opportunity to discuss hypoglycaemia in hospitals and primary care settings.
This year, Hypo Awareness Week took place between Monday, October 3 to Sunday, October 9.
Most of the registered sites received a printed pack, which included posters, stickers, t-shirts, pens and a pledge board to share key messages around hypoglycaemia on social media.
All of the sites had access to an online resource pack. The sites also had exclusive access to two CDEP online topics.
Registered sites are now being encouraged to apply for the Hypo Awareness Week Excellence Award, which celebrates, recognises and rewards the ‘above and beyond’ efforts that were made during the campaign.
The award will be part of the QiC Diabetes awards programme. Due to the close proximity of the awards ceremony taking place this October, the winner will be announced after the event.
To take part, please email Emily.mayhew@ojpr.co.uk with the following information:
