Inspirational individuals working in diabetes care to be nationally recognised in forthcoming QiC awards 2021

Exceptional people who have enhanced the lives of those with diabetes will be nationally celebrated at the impending Quality in Care diabetes awards.

The ceremony, which is being held on Thursday, October 14, gives the diabetes community a chance to thank their diabetes heroes who exceeded care expectations during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Nominations for remarkable diabetes educators and outstanding healthcare professionals who worked in diabetes care throughout the pandemic are being sought.

In addition, the annual event allows people to thank non-professionals who provided support to those living with diabetes during lockdown.

Since 2011, the QiC awards have been recognising, rewarding and sharing initiatives that improve the quality of life for people with diabetes.

This year’s nomination categories include: Outstanding Educator in DiabetesDiabetes Professional of the Year and The People’s Award.

The Outstanding Educator in Diabetes award will be given to an individual who has provided first-rate education during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Diabetes Professional of the Year will recognise a healthcare worker who has gone above and beyond during the pandemic, while The People’s Award will thank a non-healthcare professional who has cared for someone with diabetes.

The voting process will close on Friday, September 3, in time for the judging process to commence on Tuesday, September 7.
